The Type H Hydraulic Back Pressure Valve (H.BPV) is a downhole mounted one-way non-return valve installed inside the tubing hanger. It allows downward fluid circulation during well flushing, pressure testing and tool running, but firmly blocks upward backflow of downhole high-pressure fluid. Its biggest advantage is enabling Christmas tree replacement, BOP stack removal and wellhead maintenance without killing the well, which significantly reduces operating costs, shortens construction downtime and avoids formation damage caused by frequent well killing.
