1. Product Description
The Surface Safety System, commonly known as SSV or Surface Safety Valve, is a critical wellhead emergency shutdown safety device widely applied in onshore and offshore oil and gas wells, wellhead production trees, test manifolds and surface gathering pipelines. As the core barrier of well surface safety control, this system is designed to prevent well blowouts, medium leakage and equipment damage caused by sudden overpressure, pipeline rupture, fire hazard and equipment failure. It serves as the final safety protection line for oil and gas well surface production systems, ensuring zero major safety accidents during long-term field operation.
The surface safety system mainly consists of hydraulic or pneumatic actuators, high-pressure safety valve body, position indicator, fusible plug fire protection assembly and emergency control unit. Different from conventional manual valves, the SSV supports automatic emergency shutdown and remote intelligent control. When the wellhead pressure exceeds the preset safe threshold or the system detects abnormal working conditions, the valve will rapidly and automatically cut off the well fluid channel within seconds. It can also realize passive shutdown through fusible elements in case of on-site fire, effectively isolating downhole pressure and blocking risk diffusion. After the fault is eliminated and the system pressure returns to normal, the device can be manually reset for normal production recovery.
Manufactured with integral forging technology and metal hard sealing structure, the surface safety system features high pressure resistance, zero leakage, fatigue resistance and excellent environmental adaptability. It can stably operate in harsh working conditions including high pressure, high salinity, hydrogen sulfide corrosion and extreme temperature changes. With compact overall structure, convenient installation and simple daily maintenance, it perfectly matches API 6A international wellhead standards. Widely used in conventional oil and gas wells, high-pressure test wells, offshore platform production wells and fracturing & cementing operation sites, it is a mandatory safety configuration for modern standardized oilfield development projects.
