Product Overview

The Junchi (SANMON) Cementing Plug Set consists of a top plug (wiper plug) and bottom plug (spacer plug) designed for primary casing cementing operations. The bottom plug, launched ahead of the cement slurry, serves as a physical barrier between drilling fluid and cement, while the top plug, launched behind the cement, wipes the casing wall clean and provides positive indication of cement displacement completion. Both plugs feature precision-molded rubber fins (wiper elements) that conform to the casing ID, ensuring effective fluid separation, minimal contamination, and complete wiping action.

The plug cores are manufactured from drillable aluminum alloy or composite materials, enabling rapid drill-out after cementing without damaging the casing. The rubber fins are formulated from an oil-resistant nitrile compound (NBR) suitable for a wide range of temperatures and wellbore fluids. All plugs are manufactured to API Standards and undergo dimensional verification and material testing before shipment.

Applications

  • Primary Casing Cementing: Used in all standard primary cementing operations for surface, intermediate, and production casing strings.

  • Liner Cementing: Smaller-diameter plugs for liner cementing applications with drill-pipe or wireline deployment.

  • Two-Stage Cementing: Used in conjunction with stage cementing collars to isolate first and second stage slurries.

  • Reverse Circulation Cementing: Modified plug configurations available for reverse circulation cementing techniques.

  • Deepwater Cementing: Low-temperature rubber formulations available for deepwater subsea cementing applications.

Advantages

  • Superior Wiping Action: Multiple precision-molded rubber fins provide complete wiping of the casing wall, eliminating residual cement and reducing contamination.

  • Reliable Fluid Separation: Secure seal between different fluid columns prevents intermixing of drilling fluid, spacer, and cement slurry, ensuring cement quality.

  • Fast Drill-Out: Aluminum alloy core with optimized geometry for rapid and consistent drill-out, typically completed in 15-30 minutes.

  • Chemical Compatibility: Rubber compounds are tested for compatibility with common drilling fluids, spacers, and cement additives to prevent degradation.

  • Consistent Sizing: Molded fins are produced to tight tolerances (+/- 0.010"), ensuring uniform wiping across the full plug length.

  • Bump Indication: Top plug provides clear pressure increase indication (bump) when landed on the float collar, confirming cement displacement completion.

FAQ

Q: What is the difference between top plug and bottom plug?
A: The bottom plug has a diaphragm (rupture disc) that bursts when it lands on the float collar, allowing cement slurry to pass through. The top plug is solid and seals completely when landed, providing a positive bump indication.

Q: Can the plugs be used in H2S environments?
A: For H2S service, we recommend HNBR rubber compounds which offer enhanced resistance to sour gas and higher temperature ratings (up to 200 deg C).

Q: How are the plugs shipped?
A: Plugs are individually wrapped and packed in export-grade plywood crates. Large orders can be palletized for efficient handling.

Q: Do you supply plugs for non-standard casing sizes?
A: Yes, we can manufacture plugs for any casing size upon request, including Russian GOST standard sizes and premium connection casing.

Q: What is the typical lead time?
A: Standard sizes are typically available from stock (3-5 days). Custom sizes require 15-25 days for manufacturing and testing.
